Erica Pride (SP 11)

Since I graduated in 2011, I have grown a lot, mentally, spiritually (developing my relationship with God) and personally(relationships with sorors, friends and family). I (along with my spouse and our village) am raising my 4 month old son! He’s definitely the highlight of 2020!

Career-wise, I have worked in multiple areas of social work ranging from geriatrics/nursing facility to assessing child abuse and neglect, with other sectors in between. All of which I’ve been able to work with a diverse group of people across different religions, ethnicities, lifestyles and more. I currently work as a licensing specialist for foster family homes. I am also currently pursuing my MSW!

When I graduated in 2005.  I spent a year in Venezuela teaching English and helping a local church.  I came back in 2006 and started work as a Community Organizer for Faith congregations.  This work led to me becoming a Baha’i.  I later switched careers over to AARP, where I work now as a Community Engagement Advisor for 12 states.  I now serve as VPGA for the National Board.  I love my sisterhood!  #FAML

In October we rescued our first dog together, Cleo and by May I started working full time with the city reviewing subdivision plans and issuing residential permits. I completed my graduate thesis in July on affordable housing alternatives and am continuing to work with the City of Carmel.
